Oh yes, we are obsessed and the boy bag deserve it. But our conversation have switched recently, now the Chanel easy flap (or you can call it the basic flap) is one of our hottest discussion. But the easy flap remain a mystery, we couldn’t find much information about it! So Bragmybag decided to make a change…
We sourced the entire web and couldn’t find much information even on other blogs and the Official Chanel website. We decided to do our own research. Keep reading because this can be very interesting. Here’s what we found:
Let’s start with the basic. Please welcome the Chanel classic flap in taupe on your left and salute the Chanel easy caviar flap in black on your right. Notice any difference? Allow us to clarify:
1. Both bags has the double CC turn-style lock. You see?
2. Both leather style are very similar. You can get the easy flap in caviar and lambskin.
3. From the design perspective, there isn’t much difference. Or did I missed something?
4. Both has leather interwoven between the chain links. BUT, the Chanel easy flap has a leather handle on the top. Can you see? Can you see?
Oh, I am getting excited. Let me open another door for you.
On the top, the Chanel jumbo classic flap (double flap) in blue. On the bottom, the Chanel easy flap in black again. Isn’t it obvious? The inner closure. You close the Chanel jumbo classic flap by pressing the button. Click! The easy flap has a zipper.
I was very disappointed that Chanel has discontinued the Chanel east/west flap. Then Chanel introduce a new bag, the Chanel 3, which looked similar to the Chanel jumbo flap, but not quite yet. Now Chanel has introduce the easy flap and it’s oh-so-easy, let me show you why.
The Chanel easy flap cost: 1,530 GBP (spotted in London), around 1,800 EUR. It’s available in lambskin and caviar, golden hardware and silver hardware. You can pick the blue, beige or black. Size is 25 cm in length. The easy flap is an excellent substitute for the Chanel classic flap. The medium classic flap is already priced around 2,670 GBP, can you see the huge gap in price?
Even if we forget about the price, I still love the easy flap. It’s simply gorgeous and a must have for any girl who want to own a Chanel flap. This is your time, it’s waiting for you at the Chanel boutique. This is the ultimate Chanel treat.
One more thing, the Chanel easy flap is from the spring/summer 2013 collection. The style code is: A67742

Hi Deborah, you are very welcome. they told me that they are going to have pre-fall stuff in next week, so you may see more options and colors. The one on Ave. Monaigne has the beige one but that was 4 days ago. I haven’t seen any black though. By the way, if u plan to buy LV, don’t buy it in Italy, it is cheaper in Frence. But Chanel price are the same in both countries. I should have done the research before I bought one in Italy 🙁

I`m travelling to Paris and Rome in september and I really want to buy my first chanel, because in my country we don`t have chanel stores. I will be travelling with my husband and its my 30th birthday and our first wedding anniversary! But, unfortunately I have a very limited budget: 2.000 euros and nothing more. I want to stay closer to the classics, that`s why I loved the chanel easy flap so much. It`s cheaper and it`s very similar to the classics. Do you know the prices of the chanel easy flap? What size do you recommend? I have 1.60cm. Is there any difference to buy in Paris or in Rome? Is the same price? I will be able to find in september the chanel easy flap? I don`t have a lot of time in the cities and I am a little worried that I woulnt find in the cities… My itinerary is first rome, than Paris. What should I do?

Hi Deborah, many people who message me got the jumbo size. It’s just right, and for you height, the jumbo is nice too. Not larger, maybe the medium if you are more comfortable AND if they have in stock. The price spotted:
Prices are no different in Europe, they are all the same. I heard they are still available in Paris. If you can find it, I would buy it immediately. But not sure which color you want to settle.
You might also want to consider the GST for that budget, because the GST is also a classic. And did you saw the Chanel WOC yet? You can find all timeless bag of Chanel here:

I just went to Lafayette Paris, they have a lot of easy flat in stock. They have blue, red, sliver/grey, gold brown. I also saw green one in the boutique on Ave Cambon. I was in Italy last week and they were out of stock on easy flap. Paris stores has way more selections tan in Italy. But Italy Chanel gives 14% tax refund and Paris stand alone boutiques gives 13%. I would not buy Chanel in Lafayette if you can, the tax refund was only 12% and it is harder to do exchange at other boutiques if you change your mind later. Have fun and good luck on Chanel hunting!

The bag is sold out in Harods, there are lot of demands. I heard they were available in Florence too. But Chanel is not bringing it back, they are getting new stock. Usually on monthdays they get new stocks and then you can try to call them again.
If you read the comments, they are available in London. But they have like 10 boutiques over there. Give one a call and ask them which boutique has it. I heard that the black are sold out, they have beige and white, I heard this on 11 May, they might have new stock right now.

I was just in Florence and the medium easy flap is €2200 and large is €2300. They have grey/silver in medium size. Blue in large. I saw a dark red in large yesterday but when I went back this morning, I was told that they only has one and sold it already. I for sure want to pick up a Chanel during this trip ( will head to Milan and Paris next).
The easy flap is definitely on the list but I wanted to see if other stores have boy bag and see what colors they have and decide. Wish me luck!

I have PST and the classic black medium flap with SHW. I’m looking for a different color Chanel bag. I don’t really know what I want to buy and was hoping to see what they have in the store. The store in Venice didn’t really have the good selections … So disappointed. They don’t have the easy flap either. Hopefully I can find more selections in Milan or Paris (keep my fingers cross)

I bought my PST like 2 years ago and I actually saw couple of them on display in Venice Chanel store yesterday.
I do have the medium black caviar flap and have just bought a Chanel pondichery grey bag in Milan today. This is the first time I saw it but I just researched it and found that it was last fall’s collection. But the sales told me it is from the spring/summer collection. Do you know if Chanel repeat last season’s bag when it’s not the classic ones?

The SA can say whatever they want, but some Chanel bags are re-introduce in the next season with new styles/colors. Just like the Shiva bags, they are previous seasons, but Chanel still sell them. In every season they are available in new colors. Same as the Chanel reissue 2.55 size 224 (the smallest size), some bags they don’t even publish on their site (like the easy flap).
Is the Chanel Pondichery bag comfortable, btw what was the price? The medium should cost: $3,400 USD
I think the one I bought is the medium and it is €2400 in Milan. I have not started using it but I think it should be comfortable to carry. Not heavy like it looks….

Hi, I am in Paris right now and I just got myself a jumbo classic and a Pondichery , the sales lady told me that they continue selling it because it is very popular . She showed me two sizes , and I chose the bigger one as the price difference is not much . I would highly recommend to go to the Chanel store at Rue Cambon to get the bags , as the box and the paper bag have the address printed on them ,may be it is just me but I somehow feel special 🙂 and they still have available stock of jumbo classic black (lamb skin) , and no more black elsewhere . I would prefer cavier but no stock too so no choice . 🙁
OMG I just heard Selfridges at London has a lot of caviar in stock. But I love the lambskin too actually, are you going to use it everyday. BTW, how is the Pondichery bag? Quality and style?

Hi Helen, you already got the medium classic flap bag and the GST. See the jumbo easy flap as an extra dessert after the diner. I would save a bit for the Hermes Birkin bag. If you have the medium classic flap, and you buy the easy flap too, isn’t it a bit similar. While if you buy the birkin bag, you have an entire new bag and style in your wardrobe. Love that right?

I would like to have a Jumbo size chanel easy flap ( not sure about which colour – Black/Beige) for an everyday bag. I got GST cos the Classic Medium Flap was not availble at duty free shop last time. Later on I bought the medium flap at Selferdges. I don’t think you can adjust the strap longer – how? The SA told me the medium flap can not be worn as cross body when I purchased. I have not done enough research on Birkin and don’t know whether I can just walk in and buy straight away from the shop. I don’t like wait for long time just for buying a bag. Do you know which type of lether o Birkin hold the shap well and lighter? It will be my first and only Birkin.
I’m thinking to sell my GST as I bearly use it- only 5 times since I bought it.
Hi Helen, which duty free shop did you went? Love the GST, it’s a great start, but you have to get the flap bags, it’s gorgeous.
If you sell the GST, do you need the cash to fund the other bags? If not, I would keep it.
I have never done it, but I heard from others that SA can make the strap longer. You might want to ask.
With Birkin, you can buy and walk away, but only to a few types. There are types that you need to wait for very long time in their list.
A lot of people love the togo leather, because you don’t need to baby it so much. So you will be having the medium classic flap and the birkin, and you don’t want the GST? You do not like tote bags or…?
T3 at Heathrow in Jan, they no longer sell classic flap bag there anymore.
The reason of selling the GST it is due to I rarelly use it and it has an open top rather than closed. I just got bonus and it is enough to pay for another Chanel Easy flap. I just not really use the GST much. Maybe sell later to make some good margin.
Will pop to Selferdges to ask SA next week then, but the SA did told me the medium flap can not be wore as cross body type and that is reason I wanna the easy flap jumbo.
My colleague got a togo black for EUR6500 last year in Germany, my budget will be similar. However, I noticed that the Togo birkin is not that structed well. How about Epsom?

Hi, you can adjust the strap? If you can’t do it yourself, go ask the SA. They should be able to help you. The easy flap is kind of the like the classic flap. I find the classic flap caviar much better.
